Switch is a program in the Arq Grid who serves as a squad leader in the resistance group Reset. Leader of the Reset mission to retake the Null Refinery back from Core, they were initially derezzed by Exo in a previous time loop. However, upon meeting in another time loop, Exo gained Switch's trust, and the two worked together to successfully retake the Null Refinery.

Biography

Background

At some point, Switch joined the resistance group known as Reset, becoming a squad leader. They were the leader of the mission to retake the Null Refinery back from Core.^[1]

TRON: Catalyst

Third Person

While talking to a program named Hopper in the Tributary of the Null Refinery, Exo was ambushed by Switch and their Reset squad, who told Exo to put her hands up, to which she refused, leading to a brief skirmish between the squad and Exo. Switch and her squad were derezzed by Exo.^[2]

Reset

After another time loop caused by Conn derezzing her, Exo had to regather her allies once more before confronting Conn in the Outlands. Seeking a favor from her, Vega first asked Exo to assist a Reset squad in retaking control of the Null Refinery from Core, and should she be successful, he would help her in the Outlands. He gave her a Reset password, "Artemis," for her to say to the squad.^[2]

A Switch In Time

Inside the Tributary of the Refinery, Switch encountered Exo, with the latter saying the password to them given by Vega. Switch realized that Exo is one of Vega's allies, and introduced themself to Exo. Surprised by the squad consisting of three people, Exo agreed to infiltrate the facility.^[2]

Master Control

Switch, Exo, and the squad reached the central console of the Control Nexus after defeating a Core division. Switch gave a voice broadcast to the Core facility, saying Reset has full control of the Refinery and will return what was stolen from innocent programs. They told Core that the Grid belongs to the programs. Oracle locked this outcome for Exo, and Switch thanked Exo for her assistance.^[2]

General information

Appearance

Switch has short, black hair and white skin. They wear a long coat with a glowing green trim and a hood, which appears to be standard wear for many Reset soldiers. Like all Reset members, Switch's circuitry color is green.

Personality and traits

Switch is an upbeat program who is ready for a fight. They enjoy a challenge and are confident in themself and their squad's ability in defeating the Core division when retaking the Null Refinery. Switch finds thrill in fighting enemies, as seen when she tells Exo that fighting is what makes the infiltration fun.^[2]

Skills and abilities

Switch is shown to be a formidable fighter, leader, and infiltrator. As a squad leader, they are capable of leading their squad to infiltrate Core locations, such as the Null Refinery. They are skilled in wielding a dagger and in throwing grenades, as seen when they first encountered Exo in a previous time loop.
